This long running TV programme is looking for visually impaired people to take part. The information is below and I asked them about accessibility for people like us. They said: “In terms of the Showstopper challenge specifically, it’s difficult for us to say exactly how we would adapt this without knowing the individual access needs of the person taking part. We have an Access Coordinator involved this year from the audition process onwards, who advises us on these issues. During the later stages of auditions, they will be in contact with applicants directly and would work with each individual to understand their needs and, where possible, make the necessary adjustments to ensure they have an equal opportunity to take part in the Showstopper”.
The Great British Bake Off – Casting Call
Are you, or someone you know, a star baker in the making?
The Great British Bake Off is currently looking for a fresh batch of bakers to take part in the next series, and we want to hear from you.
We want the famous white tent to be an inclusive space that truly represents the diversity of the nation, and that includes talented bakers who are blind or visually impaired.
We recognise that everyone’s needs are different, and we are committed to making reasonable adjustments throughout the audition and filming process. Whether that’s alternative formats, guided support, orientation assistance, clear labelling, or another adjustment – just let us know what works best for you. We want every applicant to feel confident, comfortable, and fully supported.
How to Apply:
Visit applyforbakeoff.co.uk – the application site is compatible with screen readers and assistive technology.
Deadline:
Applications close on Friday 11th December 2026 at 1pm.
If you love baking and fancy a go in the tent (or know someone who should), we would love to hear from you.
