Just Vote!

Whatever your politics, tomorrow is the chance to have your say.

I’m one of the lucky ones: the postal vote went off last week but some others have been scrambling for theirs.   The alternative is to pitch up in person and make your X.

Our local Catisfield Memorial Hall, with which I’ve been involved for nearly two decades, turns into a voting station for the day.   Rory, the same Presiding Officer for all those years, popped in to collect the key and renew our old acquaintance.   Meanwhile, fellow ex-Wren Lyn, will be doing her voluntary ballot duties too.

Catisfield was lucky.   The electoral Commission planned to split our little community between two Parliamentary constituencies.   Several of us reminded them of our historic links so we’ve avoided the split and are all re-designated as part of Hamble Valley.   Farewell Fareham (which now extends to Waterlooville!).

Every community can come together for an election.   Even if we don’t all agree, we can have some influence over what happens over the next five years.
