Friend Joan arrived with large bag of her excellent pears: now bottled in light syrup to last throughout the winter. The fermenting cider tub has reached over four gallons and more apple and rhubarb juice is ready for soft drinks. The dehydrator is now in action: damsons (de-stoned) and tomatoes underway.
